International Commerce Center This 118-story tower is the centerpiece of a master plan or massive reclamation project in West Kowloon. Facing downtown Hong Kong across Victoria Harbor, the development was conceived as a transportation hub connecting Hong Kong to Chep Lap Kok airport and a new urban center with residential, office, retail, hotel and recreation uses. The winning entry in a design competition, the scheme includes: offices, a 300-room boutique hotel, and an observation deck on the 90th floor. The office floors are generous in scale, with central cores. The hotel rooms occupy the upper levels of the tower, radiating from a cylindrical atrium topped by a swimming pool. A vertical city all by itself, the tower will be one of the tallest structures in the world upon completion in 2008.
